Architecture in a Different Light

Details

Black and white images are raw. They are stripped back of all distracting colour. The shadows, the light, the contrast and clarity is there for all to see and they can be powerful. What lies behind the shadows is mysterious and dark.

Black and white is suited to every type of photography genre: I use it a lot in live music photography but I love it in architecture. Capturing reflections of light on glass, the clouds against the sky, windows and recesses.

This album is a series of black and white architectural images of many different types of building re-touched in a particular style. I look for some blue in the sky and reflected light hitting only certain parts of buildings and use that as the foundations of the image. I like them to look angry and moody.
